You are playing with The Banned now?
Toying with The Affections?
Might as well go ahead and do a full-on Baum-bomb.

There are just no hugs
For mugs and thugs who insult
All intelligent gents
Willful sour children
Should be sent to their bedroom
For harshing mellows
A marinade of bile
Spiced the taco way too much
It soon turned to spew
She burned her fingers
At the campfire but will she
Learn from her mistakes?

As for Burch, he could maybe use some birch on his butt, but it's not my concern.
I don't go where he goes.
He's not bothered me.
But I'm really stoked about Lurch's talent. I never knew!

Fooling around with the VA again today on minor things was like sitting in solitary, except for the awful muzak. At least I had my AC unit going.
I went out in the heat today...oh, boy.
One errand was to run the pkg. of slides over to the PO to mail to Jim Shirley. I've had them for two years, should have sent them long ago.
It is still 86 degrees outside!

Furthur on down the road, this old song still accompanies me, despite the usurping of Aussies crazed on coca.
I muted the muzak by playing oldies. This fell out of the bag.

This then will be a share to far but fitting in so well
The dude abides:
Every day I or she checks our meeger balance.
Then on Thursday last a $99.70 charge to proactive acne cream out of Canada
WTF? We didn't order any such thing.
Call the Bank. . . .
Wait twenty minutes her, playing the menu prompt game.
NOT me
See often if you refuse to answer any of the recorded questions, Not a one,
The line goes dead then rings a courtesy line and a living being picks up.
It can still take time at least (z may know or Clint Cummins) seven to ten minutes to get through.
I have no patience and it is pointless weed less in this heat I cannot keep my temper in check, so I hang on listening to commercials for the Special Olympics, and that terrible zac o zit Muzak
Hey they got dead and they flames of billy Joel. But it sends me into a tizzy,
The wife is calm and purpose driven, eye on the goal.
And worked in banking.
We can't get it straight at first so a conference call transpired.
The result of which is that clear fraud is found and the charges are reversed.
Still so thin the margin in my account, I burn the gas in the heat to go to the Main Street branch. I am calmer and I sit the eF down. That gets attention immediately. "can I help you sir" a terse yes, from me gets me an invite to move to the proper desk.
Taken to the cubical I explain the situation with names of the fraud lady from the phone call and her extension (phone# too for redundancy.)
The call again is made the confirmation is again confirmed.
I do not trust, been here before and I don't want to hear it.
Do not over draw my account !
if the kids camp tee shirts hit, it will blow that meager balance and trigger an overdraft charge.
(they started camp on Monday, remember This is the prior Thursday that this is happening) )
Okay no wat? They say they can't do anything about that. . . .?
I close the account.period.
The branch manager sees it going south, I vibrate, reals for real you can see me start to shiver like and I jump up to pace it off, like walking off an injury in a ball sport. It tones down the volume of the vibrating gnome, at least, at most/best, it gets the head boss involved.
He looks me up, with his superior access, on the computer.
Then looks at disheveled sweaty Gnome, and back at the screen.
This account sees no debit or credit action only cash in and cash out,
It is on the screen. He looks,in hopes of a more balanced response, at the wife
She has come into the bank, now worried, hot from the car park, but better turned out than me. We peck our cheeks for effect and I turn this cluster fix over for her to straighten out.
He says to her, put money in the account to cover what's might be pending,
We both say at once say no, cancel the damn account.
This is not what the Main Street branch is all about.
It is a cheery old fashion bank with three story vaulted ceilings ornate forties style.
The manger sucks in a breath and says "I see you have had this account since 1968."
Yeah what of it you suck, the bank sucks, (I think, to my self)
and if you look this is the last of three, the oldest, and a non-business so not free.
Please let's not pretend that you won't be charging me $37, next week for what ever hits today, it is nine thirty am.
He says the charges have been reversed, well no the accounts been frozen to investigate the fraud claim,( this I already knew)
We are not budging,
The manager sets his pen to paper and hands said paper to the wife
It says that as the stop payment is held up by who knows what? the fraud investigation.
The bank is depositing the Hundred dollars to cover any overage.
The cards are cancelled. The bank will take its money back when this all works out and then re-issue and activate new cards.
Ookaayy . . . . that's a new one but the cards are in our pockets seems like if we hand 'em over then no foul, a fair ball is in play, the bank will cover with its own money if a charge beyond the balance hits, it will, - the damn tee shirts, we know.
Seems unbelievable but when checking as the sun came up this morning, there is another $99.70 proactive, Canada e charge again,
I'm board with this. . .
By 1 pm today there was an error in the amount of cash balance on hand,
still the cards are inactive
Ho wait that error. . . It was in our our favor.
.( By more than the hundred bucks the bank gave us) we hope that it is on the way
To being straightened out.
The bank manager? The original "loan"? What ever is going on we will hold tight. The bank will walk back the mistake, and God willing we will have some cash in a day or two. When the cards are re-issued.

We didn't start this fire, either.

There is a character in Shibumi named the Gnome, BELIEVE IT OR NOT!
The PlO goatherd shook his head. "This Nicholai Hel must be very rich from the point of view of money, eh?"
"Not so much as you might imagine. In the first place, his stunts are expensive to set up. This is particularly true when he has to neutralize the government of the coountry in which the stunt takes place. He does this through the information brokerage of a man we have never been able to locate--a man known only as the Gnome. The Gnome collects damaging facts about governments and political figures. Hel buys this information and uses it as blackmail against any effort on the part of the government to hamper his actions. And this information is very expensive. He also spends a lot of money mounting caving expeditions in Belgium, the Alps, and his own mountains [Pyrenees]. It's a bobby of his and an expensive one."

Staying with the very subtle Japanese theme, I'd like to discuss the price of rice here in California.
There is a type called Calrose, which seems to be the most-sold variety. I do a lot of shopping at Grocery Outlet. The brands of rice there are not that great, for they are very standard, just what uninformed housewives might buy based on price alone.
I've been fortunate to have discovered there is a HUGE difference in what money can buy. I shop for rice now at the Kialee Market, the Asian store in the next block down Main, across from the Arts Center.
I buy five pounds for $3.99 of a generic type of what is coyly labelled as "Carose Rice" by the folks there. The stuff cooks up very well, absorbs flavors well, so far as I can tell. I have only cooked it with bok choy and soy (a pretty good-tasting variety from the Hmong store, as well) and am pretty much sold on it and the greens as a staple now.
The bok choy is such a deal. Huge package of four to six bunches for a dollar, when available.
I'm not equipped with the knowledge needed to discern anything else, as yet. But I'm eating better and enjoying the new tastes and textures has a lot to do with that.

Jack Meade had one in HS.
His GF lived out in Snelling so he needed economy (32-mile round trip) to see Lisa, a MHS cheerleader.
Jack used it mornings to deliver Ralph J. Gleason, The Sporting Green, Herb Caen, and Art Hoppe to SF Chronicle subscribers.
My father insisted on getting "outside news" that the Merced Sun-Stroke did not provide.
He also listened to Paul Harvey's broadcast every morning while shaving.
Mr. Clockwork, Boomer was.
My brother Mike found a great deal on a Honda 250, meanwhile, then upgraded to a Triumph convertible painted reddish-orange with a pair of racing stripes.
Fast and furious, back in the day.

And here is what we get from "The Detectives?"
Watch those thirty-year mortgages like a weatherman, son.
Edit: Following a morning nap which stretched out to be a near-siesta, I awoke to a sort of diatribe from an imaginary neebee decrying the video above. I closeted myself in the bathroom to think on it and discuss it with the higher power.
Results: I don't subscribe to any hate of our sitting president, his race, nor the issues he must meet to defend his program, if indeed he has one: and the main reason I posted the video was to show the lengths to which political enmity will go to try to destroy a person or party's credibility.
This one claims that the president is a liar bent on concealing his past for his own gain by the simple device of not allowing his private information to become part of the real issues. It's tough to do and it is what is called an ad hominem attack--we see these all the time here on the forum.
Bill Clinton "stepped into it" based on his misdeeds while in office and besmirched his legacy. Mr. Obama is smart enough not to allow the past to control the present. This, to me, is common sense. It may be Paine-ful, in that canards will fly, but that's part of the job. He, the lone black man of the group of men known as POTUS, is not being impeached, but simply hated, so his device to counter the slurs must be working.
It will remain as posted, not that our little corner of existence has much of an effect on anyone's way of thinking, but we do sometimes think about consequences here in the control booth.
Viva la Constitution de los Estados Unidos!
