Clearly the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree....a strong good lookin' young man. I'm sure it breaks both your hearts he never got to meet Grandma...:( She knows, she's proud.

Thank you, Susan... been missing mom a lot recently.
Today:
I just went down to my locally owned store, Holiday Mart, to get smokes...
Every time I have gone there
I would see this tiny woman
and her puppy
sitting on the side of "river" ...
I always wondered
what her story was.
She was killed by a driver on Monday, crossing the street with her puppy....
Perhaps I am far too sensitive
but when I met her family today
running a car wash to raise funds
I simply walked over, handed over $20 bones
and hugged her son
and conveyed my condolences
covered in tears.
I always thought I would see her...
Kiss, talk, hold, and listen to the ones you love ... and approach strangers out of kindness ... their stories are valuable too.

I found him.
I took this picture in 2010, at the Mukilteo Lighthouse in Washington ( right across the street from Diamond Knot Brewery ). When I get a shot like this, I like to pass it along to whoever is in it, but this guy had clocked-out and went home before I had a chance to get any contact info.
I've made a couple stops at that lighthouse each year I've been up this way, hoping to find either him, or someone who can put me in touch with him. No luck. I was afraid maybe he died, or something.
Yesterday, I was back - hoping to get some more kite pics of that lighthouse ( nothing doing, winds were favorable, but most of the lighthouse grounds were closed off for someone's wedding - but Diamond Knot wasn't closed ).
While I was there, I spotted a white-haired lighthouse docent. He looked enough like the guy in the picture, so I asked him if he remembered someone flying a kite next to his lighthouse. He said yes, but it had been a few years back.
I said "I've been looking for you", and showed him the picture on my phone. He confirmed it was him, and I got his e-mail.
Another loose end tied up!
One more thing, this is the picture I had put on my coffee cup a few years ago, so it's his face I see looking up at me every morning.
