You got it, Dingus... and hang out with friends ... read my book instead of my script, solidify plans for a Sept. visit to Flagstaff, watch a TON of PBS, longingly stare at my climbing gear....etc.
Audience members who saw Parallel Lives were asking "will you re-mount this show in Spring?" My eyes glaze over at the thought.
But I WOULD probably do it, I love that show so much. I don't do theater for the money, but the paycheck that comes when the curtain comes down is an added bonus... not gonna lie!
Chaz, I hope this doesn't come out wrong, but your photos give me morning wood. (I'm in awe)
:)
As a kite lover, zBrown's additional baby photo with kites is so beautiful. Dreamy.
Jaybro... the morning colors you captured coming off Nature's sushi kitchen...awesome. That's a great photo.
Sweet Sullly... love the photos, as always. We need to figure out how to transport each other in the blink of an eye. I cannot wait to meet you in person. :)
And once we figure that out, I need to transport myself to eKat as well ... there is a dreamy bedroom with my name on it. :)
Much more to add... but I should get my ass ready for work...
Thank you all for keeping this thread going... great contributions... all of 'em!

Unfortunately not everyone knows how to "Enjoy Life" For you thespians and other Shakespeare lovers this is extremely sad news for Santa Cruz as Shakespeare Santa Cruz is coming to a close after 32 years. Outside of Ashland this was my all time favorite venue for Shakespeare. Many productions were outside in a beautiful redwood grove.
We can't help but mourn in advance the impending curtain call for Shakespeare Santa Cruz, even if the reasons to end the theater troupe's 32 years of performances are perfectly understandable.
The announcement Monday by UC Santa Cruz arts dean David Yager that Shakespeare Santa Cruz's chronic financial problems have reached a point of no return came as something of a shock to the arts community, even if they'd had years to prepare themselves for just such a possibility

Thank you for that info, Susan. 32 years and then closing... that is a damn shame.
Having played Lady Macbeth and having studied the works of Shakespeare in college, it's always sad to hear of a company specializing in the art coming to a close.
My friend and musician shared this with me today... mainly because I took the photo. I nearly cried reading her bio, esp since I miss her so much, but am proud beyond belief that she followed her dreams...

Sullly... Pickle was the Son of Macduff ... and he was AWESOME!!!!
Brought tears to my eyes when he would "die" on stage ... popping a little blood pack attached to his back, holding out his little hand, covered in blood.
I would watch that scene thru a tiny hole in the stage wall, let it sink in, then go on with the famous "Out Damn Spot" scene. Pickle's performance always inspired me.

LOVE IT, Chaz!!! Makes me smile!
My best friend and professional photographer has me do a monthly photo session of she and her little baby boy to journal his growth and her "slimming down" post birth. Since she is used to being behind the lens, it's impossible for her not to snap some shots...

That's no bull:
That one ( sporting the red earring ) IS a bull. He wasn't very happy with me being so close to him. He "charged" a couple times, but I don't think his heart was really in it. Once he figured out I wasn't after his fillies ( or whatever female cattle are called ) we came to an understanding. I got my pictures, and he got his fillies.

"It was a "win win" situation, eh?"
Better than that! It was win win win win ... I lost count.
I know the guy who owns the cattle, he's my folks' neighbor.
He's a retired Marine, and his wife works for the State Department, so between the two of them, they've been to practically every hell-hole on earth. They have the most interesting stories to tell.
I was getting shots of their house when I got sidetracked, and decided to hop the ( electric ) fence and mingle with the bovines.
Their joint is the two-story gray house. My folks live in the brown house w/ brown roof on the right edge of this shot ( where I'm holed-up right now. One day, it will all be ... my sister's! ) Their cattle are lower-right:
He was watching from his house when his bull got pushy. He was laughing, too.
I got to test-fly a new kite. They got some pictures of their joint from a different angle:
( Penn Cove off in the distance, the Puget Sound right behind me )
And I get another bleu cheese bacon cheeseburger.
It doesn't get any better than this!

Not really, well kinda, sorta, broken hearted but happy too...sent my boy off to Germany today for 6 months to study sports marketing. He's lookin' pretty perky for 5 am. Me, I was totally unphotogenic....red eyes...and not because of a photo flash...his girlfriend was tougher than I was. Lots of tears from his Dad too.
I'll see him there in December but it seems like forever....

Nothing to cry about, Ms Susan ( tears of joy excepted )
He looks like a good kid. It's HIS time now. Our time is slowly passing, and will be gone before we know it. He'll be making his mark, in ways only he can.

Text message response from my Pickle, after asking him to join me (us) for dinner on Friday night:
"Sorry Mommy, I'm at work until 11pm. :( "
He still calls me mommy .... and it always makes my heart beat.
He's been on his own for nearly 3 years.... a good kid. He FREAKS me out at times, don't get me wrong... but a wonderful young man, nonetheless.
