Ahh, that's it. Stories you hear at the Deli don't stay at the Deli, and they don't stay the same either.)

Per the Scott C. thing--I'm out. Not interested in slinging dirt just to sling it. If thre's a fantastic story involved, great. Otherwise ranger/climber bashing is a small and gruby bidness . . .

Legally, cops are not held to any higher standard than any other citizen, which is a good thing IMO. If the rules are suppose to be fair for us, it would be unfair to discriminate against a class of people (law enforcement) and hold them to some arbitrary heightened standard.

I can see the moral argument that they have power, authority, represent the govt, and exercise alot of discretion, so they should be above average on the ethics and morals issues... But to pretend that all cops must be saints cause they wear a badge is gun is idealistic and unpracticable.

"walking a tiny dog licking an ice cream cone"

Weird. I'm trying to picture how a dog can walk and lick an ice cream cone at the same time.

Unless it was stuck in his rearend.

Gah! Spelling is important! I'm one of the Scott Connerly's in the world, an intermittant climber, and came across this page that claimed I (really Scott Connolly) am a pederat. Whew. Close call.

Lober is an ass.

When Courtney was hanging around in the SAR cache last summer ......the things he used to say about her when she wasn't around. It wasn't your run of the mill sexist sh#t either. It was some seriously degrading perversely sexual stuff. You just wouldn't believe what would come out of his mouth.

I'm all for admiration of the opposite sex, but the things he would say were beyond the pale. Gross really. I wonder if his wife knows?

One time I say him with some young SAR guy, Max, Mark, Mike? Something like that, and I could have sworn they were sharing some kind of "special moment". They had thier hands on each others shoulders and were staring into each others eyes. It was the type of moment that you just knew not to walk in on. I don't know what it means, maybe they are just really close, but it was eerie. That kid was often given jobs he had no business doing. He was not a climber and had no technical sense, he was given rigging and medical leader jobs over more experienced members. The kid was like 17 or 18 or something.

Anyhoo, Lober's just a sad old man. He's got a cool job that he constantly endangers people doing because of his overwhelmingly large ego. Like ordering helicopters to rescue people when it hasn't even been confirmed those people are really injured (every time a flight goes out, people are being put in danger), just to stroke his buddies. Putting his young interns into positions they don't have the experience or technical prowess to be safe in, just because he likes them.

Last year he put a friend of a friend on a search over difficult terrain, over the strenuous objections of his co-workers (they were worried the guy would hurt himself b/c of his lack of experince on uneven, steep ground). The guy ended up breaking his leg.

Make no mistake ego has a price, and some day Lober's ego will cost someone thier life.

Good Morning!

As someone who worked with Lober on many SAR's I have to say that I was pretty consistantly impressed with his decision making abilities and leadership. He knows what he is doing and while there may be some question as to other aspects of his character, we are pretty lucky to have him when we are in need. And anyone who has been on as many SARs as Lober has, much less been Incident Commander on them, is going to make a few mistakes or bad calls.

People with legitimate criticism of Lober are certainly entitled to say their piece, but anything else is just pure slander, and poorly concocted slander at that.

I read that Ureasonalble voice guys thread some more and realize he's even more full of sh-it.

Max, 17 or 18 wrong by a mile

He was not a climber and had no technical sense, wrong again

Putting his young interns into positions they don't have the experience or technical prowess to be safe in, just because he likes them. WRONG AGAIN

You're full of sh-it dude, come back again when you've got something real instead of holding onto some ballon in the air.

And we know that you have a personal ax to grind here to make these distorted posts to fit your vengeance.

All Lober bashers. That was all a long time ago. Get over it. It's a bummer that people hold on to this crap only to dredge it up years after the fact. People change. Find something more productive to do with your time.
