Do you know, Gnome, and the world at Large O,
I've finished as many of Largo's stories as I have heard songs by Did E.
Did E finish the climb...obviously, or he would not be telling us of it.
Did E have a Large O Ego...obviously, etc.
I've enjoyed the "snippets" here & there but a climbing story is about two things, getting up and getting down.
Doing it or not doing it.
Trying it or not trying it.
Finishing it in a day or not finishing it in a day.
You get the point or you belay.
Nawmean or don't nawmean?
It's either Chinatown Jake or it's not Chinatown, Jake.
Decide for yourself--this ain't no guided climb.
It's the Lembert Lobe of the High Mind's Eye.
It's not the Lembert Dome of the High Sierra.

Great images!
Thank you for the dancing Yorkie, zB.
Mouse, thank you very much for the Ansel Adams prints. I am looking at one of his: North Dome, Basket Dome, Mount Hoffman, Thundercloud, YNP, c. 1942.
There are two sandhill colts in a nearby field, being taught Things by their parents. Great to watch.
best to you,

Climate changes in some ranges don't pose a danger.
All the same, you should check with a ranger.
Palisades can be dangerous.
Glissade on a palisade at your own risk.
I think...

For Gene, especially, who's getting this awfully nice book from me.
Yes, it has the just dacket, and it's in great shape, just like you, Gene.
This is the Ansel Adams photo used on the dust jacket of the Climber's Guide to the High Sierra by Hervey Voge, 1954.
It shows Morgan Harris and David Brower on The Minarets, 1935.
The Quaker Oats cannon at Camp Curry during the war.

Ah, Mouse, :)
We just had a discussion at Meeting last week about how some people equate Quakers with Quaker Oats. I had forgotten about Quaker Puffed Rice. And the cannons.
There was also a lively discussion about to self-defend or not to self-defend. That is the Question. For the Quakers last week at Meeting. I, being something of a maverick, came down on the side of self-defend. But not with cannons. Maybe a Ruger, though.
Not to start a gun debate here, not even about cannons. But typing of heavy objects, we are moving my kiln bricks to their new home this week. Heavy work in hot weather. This morning it is only 58F, so I've been out stacking bricks. No cannons were used, and no bricks were harmed in the process.
Now it's time to close up the house for the day to keep the cool inside.
You are right on TRs: each is the story of getting up, and getting down. Succinctly put. Thank you.
Climb on,
ff

Hope they're keeping an eye out for low flying cranes. (Never too old to learn something new everyday).
