Is this a joke? Is there really a hotel and water slide there now? I lived in Casper for a year about ten years ago. If I recall, there are some climbs right next to the parking lot too.
HOOK...LINE...AND SINKER! That's what ya call a Platte River Special! Dress up a marshmallow like a mayfly and land a lunker and reel 'em in! lol No...there's no hotel or corkscrew slides to the river...if it ever comes to that, we'll be doing some monkey wrenching on their arses for sure!
BUT, just found out that the granite choss on Casper Mtn. just past the lookout is pretty much shut down due to private property issues...more specifically, liability with their insurance policies. Such a bummer as it is the closest climbing to Casper that one can do in under an hour! There are some good, stout 30' 10+ problems on the granite as well as as some good 80-100' practice lead climbing. Glad there is a climbing gym for a quick workouts, although there is no substitute for being outside on granite, i.m.h.o...
