The Master of Castle, Barry Bates and I were discussing his recent purchase of a bouldering pad. It seems his new secret area (read, the only local bouldering he can find) suffers from ultra-nasty landings (still waiting for a pic... perhaps he is just being a wimp.) I warned him I did not want to hear any rumors of PadStacking just so he can bypass the sketchy start.

He assured me he would go no higher than 10 pads without a toprope. But then we wondered about how to make perfect landings (no pad required) more of a challenge so that even short routes could turn into free solos where total commitment to the problem was required. At first we pilled jagged rocks and pointy sticks around the base of soft, sandy landings but that was just too time consuming. It was then that Barry hit upon the ConfidencePad® For those days when you feel light and confident ®.

We are still perfecting the manufacturing process and hope to come up with one that rolls nicely so it can be carried rather than dragged to the base. Barry has asked me to get the endorsement of Bachar, Croft and "that young soloist Alex... I can't remember his last name." I'll let everyone know when they are available for sale!

Brunosafari,

Please note: The ConfidencePad® is a registered trademark and can only be written as such. Any use of a lower case "P" is strictly forbidden. If you insist on continuing this practice our crack team of overpriced attorneys will be in touch. (Or is that our attorneys on crack will be over to touch?)

On the bright side, we can send one over right away by Yellow Freight (Too heavy and oversized for FedEx.)

Check on the registered trademark I.H. Plastic. Send overpriced attorneys along with that paddy thing. I could use the extra spotters. My flagging foot can sometimes kick spastically...

In terms of blood absorption, does that device work anything like a maxi pad?
