I was at the crag last weekend talking with my crew and one them mentioned how it'd be cool to have a solar charger. I went further and thought a cool product would be a lightweight, flexible solar cell that could be worn as an armband or on a hat that would recharge camera's or cellphones as you hiked.
I looked into it and sure enough, the idea is out there, but in a cooler fashion. It's just a raw cell 'kit' so that you can do whatever you want with it. Available in different voltages, sizes, and current ratings.

pretty cool, huh?

Just attach the flexible panel to the lid of your pack then run the wire to whatever electronic device you have in your pack. Baddabing!

I have a couple of larger, flexible/rollable cells which I can connect in series, that get strapped to the outside of my haulbag on a wall. Keeps anything I need charged.

I was thinking about the same thing a while ago, perfect for recharging that bosch that you retrofitted with sla batteries.
so for 70 bucks you can be self contained, with sun power out in the boonies.
exactly what i was looking for...

hahaha Alcohol - never leave home without it, skip. ;) Actually, I use it to power my vaporizer when I'm on the wall...
Seriously, when you're on the wall with a couple of camera bodies, lenses, portable data storage unit, ipod ghetto blaster, cellio, etc. doing a shoot, you can never have enough power.
