Anyone have any advice on brokers/agents that deal with recreational rock climbing and foreign travel reasonably in terms of its impact on term life rates? Looking for 20 year term, $500 to $1 million coverage or something along those lines. Thanks.

Ptpp sells life insurance, probably has some advice.

One thing to watch out for, the quality of the company's finances.

Lots of Life Insurance company's investments took huge hits lately and some will go under

Thanks Karl - hadn't even thought of that aspect of it. Cap't I've always looked at life insurance as a bit ridiculous (why would I care, Ill be dead), but having a two year old and another on the way changes one's perspective. Ill glady pay $40-$50 a month for the next 20 years if it means softening the blow on them and my wife if I go.

I would look into insurance for foreign travel for each instance. To calculate their exposure they need to know where and when to give you something other than a worst case quote - I would think.

As for climbing, you might sit back and think about what it is that is really important to you. Money is not the whole deal.

i have turned several climbers on to nortwestern mutual. VERY cheap.
and they see climbing as a plus, we're generally healthy active people.
