Hi everybody,
I am doing a bit of climbing history research on the Yosemite Valley climb Bishops Terrace and was wondering if anyone has a current email or any contact information for Herd Swedlund? It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a bunch,
Mark

You can probably contact him by calling Jackson Hole Mountain Guides.

HoMan, that pic looks steep. I used to solo that one all the time, just as a morning warmup before heading to the cafe for coffee. Can't imagine doing that now...(note to self--must review, "Art of Climbing Down Gracefully.")

Herb lives in Twin Bridges Montana. I haven't talked to him in a while, but he was doing great last fall.

Ya, glad to hear Largo thinks so too (stiff 5.8 that is). I returned to Yos. one May after climbing pretty hard in WY. for a couple seasons, felt very comfortable leading 5.9's in WY. I thought I'd cruise BT off the couch (since we don't get much climbing done in winter in WY) since it was only a 5.8. I got spanked and had to lower off mid-way (if I got that far) and a nice couple cleaned the route for me. Very humbling indeed!

When you get in touch with Herb, tell him he should join in the ST campfire. I am sure he has a few old friends posting.

Thanks for the memories that come with the photo- Bishops Terrace was my favorite valley route-I thought that locker hands sections was about the smoothest crack ever.
One of those places where you can sink 'em in, lean back and watch the world go by
