This is a climbers forum right? And that is a (slightly) technical peak, right? And not one person on Supertaco has been up there recently?????

Lyell is a nontechnical scramble on the standard route. A few folks have been up it within the past month on summitpost.org.
Last year about this time I did the east arete (up) and the standard route down. There were ice patches on the glacier's left (eastern) side but it was so low angle on the standard route that a couple of guys were coming up without axe or crampons - just walking in the suncups. There is probably more snow this year.

I was gonna head there like tomorrow but Lisa and Huck aren't going to be around and things are crazy at home so I was considering bailing on the trip.
