this from Randy:

Dear Friends and Climbers,

I wanted to invite you to join us for a nice evening with Chris Sharma on June 27th (http://www.alliedclimbers.org/);. This is our first annual celebration of the beginning of our new, local non-profit climbers access group. We have accomplished a lot this first year. We formed this group to address widespread cliff closures in San Diego County National Forest lands. These types of closures would set a precedent for all National Forest lands. A national organization, The Access Fund (www.accessfund.org), has joined us in our efforts. We are doing a lot of positive things for the outdoor community in many other ways. Please join us to celebrate our one year anniversary. We need your support. You will be treated to a nice, catered event at the Sheraton Hotel on San Diego Bay. Chris Sharma will be giving the headline show and I will be his "warm-up band". We hope to see you there. Please RSVP to treasurer@alliedclimbers.org .

All The Best,

Randy Leavitt

P.S. Please let me know if you will be able to attend
note: The Allied Climbers Of San Diego is a non-profit group, which means your donations are tax deductible (consult your accountant)

If I wasn't a poor college student then I would be there. At this point its between eating and going to this... Seeing as how I consider food kind of important I'll have to skip this one. Have a good time folks!

I know $50 sounds like a lot during these difficult economic times. Remember this for a good cause (ACSD is working hard with the Access Fund to keep crags open to climbers and hikers) and it includes catered food, some free drinks and an evening with Chris Sharma at a beautiful venue (Sheraton Hotel next to San Diego Bay). The price was set pretty close to what we actually have to pay for the event venue + drinks + food. It is good value and the climbing community needs your support. Please RSVP today. See you there!

Thanks,

Randy

Yooooo Randy, Chris and colleagues....

If it were not so far south, I would be there, just to get a signed copy of the cool poster. I encourage others to go, for the story value.

Nice thing about climbers, some of them think beyond the norm, so they are interesting people to be among.

Is it possible for 5 million people to be in error, in their perceptions, such as thinking the world is flat, humans will never fly through the air, or Saddam has weapons of mass destruction, while one person perceiving the opposite is correct? Well?

Is fact, truth or that which is, changed to that which is not, because a majority of the people or a powerful government say it is not?

Can one human mind out-think and promptly defeat the efforts of legions of government bureaucrats, Access Fund staff, American Alpine Club staff and local organization leaders "working together" to perpetuate the illusion that the peasants (climbers) must support said legions with tax money, donations and time, to get back what they had in the first place, their RIGHTS?

Well?

Is a contradiction resolved by a resolution or another contradiction?

Your fine organization, which I encourage for other reasons, has already spent more on that cool poster than was necessary for you to have defeated all the threatened government climbing area closures of your interest, as long as the government exists.

Given no other information, would you choose to receive a million dollar donation, or the results of one day of methodical thinking (asking and answering questions) by one mind, in relation to a problem you wanted to solve?

Your answer defines your thinking ability as an organization leader.

Would any thinking person, understanding the value of the human brain's thinking ability, donate one dollar to an organization leader who chose the million dollars?

Enjoy the party. The recorded history of the event will cause many climbers to laugh in the future, for different reasons.

Doug B.

I'm a little confused by your post. Who was it that said, "Are you for us or against us?"

"Is it a contradiction resolved by a resolution or another contradiction"?

I just learned about hippy lettuce on the forum yesterday. Do they have said where you live?

Smiles, which means no bad feelings intended. Lynne (but I have read your post several times and still don't quite get it.)

Doug,

The reality is that the government exists, so we are here to work in the confines of our present system. Less government is better in my opinion. I'll be happy to send you a nice, signed poster (hopefully the Chris Sharma version). And don't worry, the photographer donated the image and ACSD members (in the printing business) contributed their services. Same with the Sharma poster, with additional contributions by Prana. So the posters didn't cost much. We are all pitching in. Even the event organizers (myself included) are paying the entrance fee. There are many members of this organization that have devoted hundreds of hours to this cause. We hope to keep climbing areas open. Thanks for your thought provoking words.

I have $-94.00 in the bank and have 4 more working days till I head to the valley, so will unable to attend both financially and, well, moneyally.

HOWEVER!

These locals are some real badasses who do more than their share.

Randy, is there a place where I can DONATE a bit? Someday I'll get paid and I would like to contribute to the cool dudes from San Diego (Spanish of course for "A Whales Vagina").

Solid endeavor guys. I wrote my letters. thx for keeping at it!

"The price was set pretty close to what we actually have to pay for the event venue + drinks + food."

IMHO, you might think about just making it a fundraiser, BYOB it at a smaller venue, and just raise money. the overhead is the killer.

still props for doing it up!!!

Sounds like great get together, wish I could make it. I hit SD to dive pretty frequently and am always happy to hit the rock while I am in town. I wish the ACSD well in their pursuits.

Allow me to further assist, for this and all future endeavors of its nature, yet again, if you wish, much to my robust laughter repeating the obvious.

Lynne.... Every person can be confused by statements, but not by questions because the answers eliminate the confusion, by design of questions. Had you simply answered the questions I asked, an easy matter with a handy computer and a word program, you would not be confused. You would wisely develop resulting questions, which if asked and answered would methodically create yet more of the knowledge you seek. The human mind learns new knowledge, and escapes confusion, by asking and answering questions, but you must actually answer them and ask them, not just skip past them.

Examples: Your questions: Q: "Are you for us or against us?" A: I am for flawless logic, because it cannot be escaped anyway, and against foolish attempts to sustain contradictions, because humans hold no ability to sustain contradictions. If you are for that, then I am for you, and conversely.

And who said that, as you asked... Countless people.

I am a climber. The government climbing closures and restrictions are not logical. They create doomed contradictions. They are the quest of typical government fools.

Q: "Is it a contradiction resolved by a resolution or another contradiction"? (The "it" was merely one of my many errors, as usual yet again, but identifiable as such.) A: A contradiction is resolved by a resolution, not another contradiction such as attempting to regain not lawfully deniable rights which cannot lawfully require government permission, by willfully asking for permission to exercise what therefore by law you turn into a deniable privilege by expressing your surrender of a right. The asking of permission is the willful surrender of a right, by law.

For the example of rights, the resolution to the contradiction of being denied a right by power of office, is to properly invoke the prevailing law against use of power of office for an unlawful attempt to deny a right, a process you can learn, but not by making statements instead of asking questions.

I do not know what hippy lettuce is, especially if you just learned about it yesterday and you are old enough to be on the internet. If you are referring to hemp (pot, marijuana), it is legal in Alaska. There is not only pot in this area, it is grown to the full extent of its demand on every continent, including Antarctica, plus an extra 10 percent to feed the police game. And LED red/blue lighting is making it cheaper and easier to hide growing operations from the malicious US Police State that must fabricate enemies from harmless people, to exist.

Randy of the cool Leavittator.... Government exists. Work within the confines of our present system. Now think.

It is a game, a con, an extortion process, a puzzle. It was created by power-damaged minds, ordinary people who sank to government jobs and thus became dependent upon power instead of reasoning. They therefore became stupid. Power above thinking is a fool's quest, always doomed. Beating them at their game is cheap child's play if you think.

The con has been played enough years (millennium) for anyone to belatedly figure it out, perhaps from these words.

In criminal violation of prevailing law, and with the impunity of easy intimidation, the dumber-than-posts federal land managers summarily close, restrict or threaten to close certain public land areas, especially to the most gullible outdoor activity group in the US, climbers. The climbers are told: "It's the law." Everything creating government power is claimed to be the law, by government idiots, not questioned by citizen idiots.

The non-club oriented climbers who foolishly allowed their organization leaderships to be easily taken over by pro-government-restrictions environmentalists, therefore ASK NO QUESTIONS and assume the lowest possible groveling position to whimper and beg for what were not lawfully deniable RIGHTS, much to the laughter of even bureaucrats.

The climbers form yet more organizations, squander thousands of human hours on meetings and discussions instead of climbing, raise money and spend it on what is bureaucratic process, working within the decreed confines of "the government bureaucracy's process", not within "our" (prevailing law) process.

How do government bureaucracies justify their budgets to congressional budget hearing bureaucrats?

They write reams of reports about the many meetings and many staff "working with the citizens on resource management matters", to therefore annually increase their staff budget (more taxation of the people), more rapid bureaucrat promotions, and then threaten more land closures to create more meetings to write more reports to get more money.

It is accurately described as a game, a con, and with use of power of office, extortion, sucking the time and money of the climbers.

So continue being a gullible sucker for the money flow of organization and government leaders playing you for a gullible sucker (as I once was), or start to ask more questions, like how did the Alaskan Alpine Club immediately eliminate the precedent Park rock climbing ban proposal in Alaska, with less money and time than your donated poster cost the donors, after the Park Pig in charge expressly stated that no amount of public comments could stop his precedent ban, as often described elsewhere but never mentioned by the environmentalist-establishment-kowtowing climbing information sources which keep unquestioning US climbers dutifully ignorant.

Read carefully. Power is laughably vulnerable to effective questioning, beyond your current comprehension, if you learn how to ask effective questions. Practice.

Organizations create only power, not knowledge. Their therefore ignorant leaders who perceive that power can resolve contradictions (not possible by design) cannot tolerate the existence of thinkers (askers and answerers of questions) who offer the knowledge that can immediately defeat climbing bans written by bureaucrats predicating their actions on power vulnerable to knowledge.

I would therefore ask what you will do with such information, but having openly offered it for two decades, I know what you will do, much to my amusement, and that of those who think about what they read.

If you send the Alaskan Alpine Club those signed posters, they will be displayed at the club HQ, and I will send you a reasonable contribution from a poor person, to insure your continued failure by being rewarded for a proven failed process, and one of our new club pins, in case you encounter the opportunity to therefore benefit.

Carry on.

I was leaning against going until the ACSD meeting the other night. I didn't realize this celebration event is a fundraiser. The promotional materials don't make that clear. Maybe that should be addressed next time. Anyway, I'll be there, and if my son wants to go I'll buy him a ticket too. It's a good cause.
