So as a little project I am going to try and make a haul drum like the ones pika used to offer before they went under. I was wondering if anyone has done this? I am trying to figure out how best to attach haul straps, back pack straps, and material to the top to cinch it down. Obviously the haul straps need to be well attached maybe by rivets? (http://www.itw-fastex.com/rivets.html);
Any other helpful ideas??
thanks,
JEsse

i'd think more along the lines of through bolting plates that you could attached the straps too.

Bet PTPP would buy one of those.
I could see him modifying it with a hose and a shower-head, clip on mirror for shaving...

"Make sure you cover the outside with HEAVY padding (esp. the top and bottoms), or everywhere you tow that thing will leave permanent scrapes, marks and gouges that will make the worst hammer and chisel marks look quaint and unobtrusive."
What? you mean it's going to scar the rock? No it's not. Or the rock is going to scar the bucket? Nah, that plastic is pretty damn strong.
Too heavy imho.
