What is your problem?

Why with all the questions?

Why do you need all these pics?

It's weird.

Thanks Jim, for seeing things as they are.
As "Survival" has noted, I'm a Kiwi, which means I'm half a world away from the action.

It's actually all very simple Josh, if I don't ask the questions its very difficult to get the answers. Obviously, you have problem with that. It's all a bit sad really. (By the way, what makes rock climbing questions weird?)

Thanks "211", that pic is a real gem!

Donini,
It's a running joke from another thread. Avery seems nice and sincere and therefore a potential victim of supertopian sandbaggery of the troll warriors. Avery, you're doing fine. J.J. is mocking others, not you.
The real takeaway is that you, Avery, got Donini jumping in to protect you immediately. You'll find a respected group of authoritative champions around here. Ask anything that you want to. There's not much tolerance for bullies. Whack-a-Troll is a necessary game we play, but even the most annoying wing nuts get tolerated. Post up your TR on Bushido when you're done. Any chance that you know a Marcus Barcus down in Kiwiland?
We might start a thread on 'surviving supertopo'. Have you been to camp IV? Think of the forums here as a big half-drunk campfire party of climbers. There are a handful of wing nuts shouting from the darkness, a whole bunch of meaningless tongue-in-cheek spray, and a handful of fantastic tales and unlikely legends.
Jump right in, there's plenty of room in the sauna.

There's not much tolerance for bullies.

Never thought I'd see this phrase applied to the ST forum.

Bushido was written up in one of the more recent Alpinist rags. Not the specifics, just the generalities. Which is good enough.

J-tree, right?!
That comment deserves elaboration. My meaning is that reasonable people tend to shout down most true as#@&%es most of the times.

Its amazing how Ed's post ended up on the screen. My initial inspiration came from Dana Eubanks wonderful pics of Tempest. From there I learned that Brad Jarrett (among others) made the 1st ascent. It was a name I was not familiar with, hence the ST questions (it was around this time I was labeled a stalker). This in turn led me to Bushido, a route that has always fascinated me. Then the article in Climbing magazine 161 was brought to my attention. I then posted a plea for the article to be posted and within a couple of hours Ed obliged me.
The whole point of that story is the relevance of Supertopo. None of the above would have come about without ST.
My personnel feeling is, lets keep it relevant to climbing and dismiss all the peripheral, self serving, pseudo hip nonsense for what is: meaningless rubbish.
I apologize for the overheated words but not for the sentiment.

Bushido

Bridwell one day asks if I whanna go up with him to diving board to scope out a new route he's eyeballed.

Sure why not I ain't doing anything today.

So we're sitting there at the diving board and Jim is talking description of the pitches as he's seeing them thru his binoculars.

I was looking thru my binoculars and somehow his route and my route descriptions were completely different.

Suddenly Jim looks over at me and says; "WTF are you looking at????"

So I point to what is now the route called "Zenith" which I thought he was looking at and going to call it Bushido.

Jim then says; "No ... I'm looking at this thing over here" as he points to the route now called Bushido.

Uuugghh wtf is that POS man!!!!

Jim says it looks pretty good.

Then after a short while he scans over to potential "Zenith".

After a long silence suddenly Jim says; "Oh WOW!!! and that one is MINE too!!!!"

LOL .......
