What did he do to get banned? I'm missing his rants about "kalis" and other things

Why don't we "bring back" those who contributed, but gradually lost interest and quietly slipped away - because of the behaviour of people like RokJox? The absent friends. They may not have been as noisy, but surely add to the culture of the place.

I think I'll repost this gem ad nauseam when I see one of these threads on the first page...

Knott so easy to ignore when you have to scroll endlessly past long-winded ranting, page after page, thread after thread.
It does get old after a while.

As Chris made clear in his video, no single poster should affect the flavor of the forum so disproportionately.

Simple as that, really.

I thought Rox was insightful and a fine writer to boot.

I don't have to agree with everything someone says to appreciate the voice of another perspective to check my assumptions against

I'd bring him back. I'm confused why people would be too bothered by him. TOo smart, like a James Bond Villain?

Peace

First you wade through 20 miles of noxious gas producing swamp LEBgrass and putrid Fortmental, fighting off hoards of pestering Skipts and endless brain boring Fattrads. Then you scramble through 5 miles of thorny stinging Roxweed and prickly Dr. Fs to get to 3 pitches of perfect granite. You get to the climb and think you can finally enjoy yourself, only to find that the pestering skipts, stinging Roxs, and the brain boring fattrads have followed you up the climb. You finish the climb and just want to hang loose in camp, enjoying the afterglow of a beautiful evening, only to have to endure more of the noxious gas wafting from the LEB swamp.

Some people seem to enjoy the harshness. And scoff at those who don't.

whatever

Rokjox seemed like the typical internet hardman:

1)lots of opinions on everything
2)intolerant and contentious of everyone who disagreed with him
3)added very little content in the arena to which the website was designed: Rockclimbing

IMO , the lesson is , it's ok to be a salty dog , but you need to bring more positives to the discussion than the negatives you add...

...Rokjox was too negative, and he wore people out .

Rox is an avid ham radio operator. I trhink he may be spending time there. But he has rental apartments to take care of, also.

I like Rox...I think he's pretty decent away from here. He's more into enertainment than hurting feelings. How will I contend with wolf lovers alone?

Don't you mean Ferocious, Imaginary, Giant, Bloodthirsty, Man-Eating, Canadian Wolves™®©? I thought you were OK with the supposed other kinds.
