There's a lot of you out there. Here's one of the best. The one, the only, Andre aka The Shmutzfink, Nibolsi, Bull Teste, Ball Aroma, Drek. Hey Mussy any more we (Mo, E and Me) over looked?
The day Andre stood tall. I seem to remember a story about this shot, but can't seem to remember it too well, Russ?
Who's sub is he?

2012 edit: So for the sake of historical or is that hilarious accuracy, and since my photobucket account got hacked years ago. Here's the pics I can remember posting, except for the last one. Any help on who it was?

Janet, a subman is the person, male or female, who supports the aspirant, or hero as the case may be.

The Sub Man likely hasn't quite achieved full game, so is happy to hold the rope, pack the pipe, keep the beers chillun' and the like.

Think Alpha dog, vs those who say YES! to the Alpha dog.

So Yes Man, is an alternative to Sub- Man.

I'm new to the term as well, but I can infer that it's the weaker link in the chain, the pump dummy, the belay slave, the Lewis to the master's Martin: always the bridesmaid but never the bride. It's a symbiotic pairing, with a strong leader but an equally indispensible wing man. Where would the Don have gotten without Sancho Panza? How many times did Tonto save the Lone Ranger's bacon? It's a term of endearment leavened with a dash of derision.

Like me, I've been a sub man all my life. I make sure the main people are supported and can do their jobs better.

I only go out to the front when the main people fall apart, otherwise I remain in the background.

OMG, Russ, I'm impressed that you remember me! I have not seen you in like 20 years, but I sure remember you too! I was just in Josh, Todd showed me your post on SuperTopo, I'm still cracking up.
