cleveland was a decent and honest man. his famous last words bespeak a life well-lived: "i have tried so hard to do right". i recently came across him in this excellent movie:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Kaiulani_(film);

... trying to do right, as usual, against stacked odds.

other presidents are also worth second looks. warren harding may not have been the corrupt jerk he's usually portrayed as, and zachary taylor seems to have been a real monster. i recently gave someone back a quarter which was disgraced by his visage. being a blood relative of abraham lincoln, i've learned to look beyond the myth with him, and i don't like all that i see.

A little known fact:
Ed Ott could autograph baseballs three times faster than Grover Cleveland Alexander.

Wes, when were you weaned?

I thought Ron Paul was terrific last night. People really warmed to the lovable nut. I hope this starts a groundswell.

Ron Paul is well, how do I put this???

A nut case....

The libertarian party has a lot of views that I completely agree with.

But if you think about some of it (views) can't ever work.
