Name the first three teams to summit Cerro Torre. If they didn't climb the ice mushroom, it doesn't count.

John, who were #2 and #3? Also, wasn't the Brewer/Bird ascent in 1979?

Yes, I think it was 79.

I could google it but that would spoil the fun...

A team from the Lecco Spiders, led by Casimiro Ferrari, in 1974, was the first to the top.

Wasn't it the Lecco team via the West Face, then Bragg (I forget his partner--Jay Wilson, maybe) also via the West Face, then Bridwell and Brewer via the Compresser Route? Maybe I have the order of the last 2 teams reversed.

Good to know the old brain is still working, but, wait, that's long term memory. Now if I could only remember what I'm suppossed to do this afternoon.....!!!!!

I have a vague memory that, in addition to Maestri (Compressor Route), there was question as to whether one of the other early teams had finished the rock portion of the tower but failed to surmount the mushroom. Does that sound familiar to anyone?
