No, couldn't pass up this thread...
I'm extremely proud of my daughters and their love (and ability) for climbing, but I think a lot of it has to do with the general supportive nature of the climbing community and having good role models to climb with and be around. (Yeah, you heard me. That might sound like a stretch to some of you, but if you've ever been around the parents/kids/mentors of any organized sport---or god forbid the "acting/theater/dance" community---climbers are about as saintly as you get....give or take.)
That said, time for pics of the 12-year-old and the 7-year-old (though these are from the last few years):
End o' the day JT race on Maggie's Farm & Rainy Day Women
The elder on Sweet Pete, Alabama Hills
The younger on same
Getting some cleaning practice on Toe Jam
The elder working through Butterfly Crack at Goddesses last year
It's really great when you can leave them to their own devices...
The younger topping out AFPA rock
Slogging up Whitney again
...and topping out
The youngster pleased at pulling through her first bulge/overhang
The older getting some slab work in
Hanging with one of those great role models I was referring to
Okay, that's enough (for now)...

"Sunday I took a picture of a 4 year old climbing with her parents (with their permission), she's so cute! Her parents said she does much better in the gym but really vertical stuff scares her (she was at the bottom of a 5.9 and didn't want to go higher). "
I know these people! Maybe I can coerce them into putting up some more pictures of their kid. =]

Victoria turned 13 today. She had told me about a week ago that she wanted to climb for her B-day. She didn't have to ask twice. So we did her first multi pitch up Tahquitz. What a steller day we had!

Thanks, man what a great thread. Its so cool to see all the great places you guys are taking your girls. Its a really special thing to share with our kids but for some reason the feeling of giving the girls something powerful that they can be good and share with us is the best!

Was at a party in Canmore a few days ago and got talking to some folks i have not seen for a few years. It turns out their 12 year old daughter is leading 5.12. I guess thats what happens when the dad is a guide.

I've got some slides of my daughter in diapers on the arete of a boulder upstream from the Tuolumne campground. When she was 9 and my son was 7 I took them up the Great White Book. They lost interest in high school, but they found it again not long after that. They're both leading now at 24 and 26. Last summer Dashielle led the Water Crack and the 5.9 variation on Northwest Books on Lembert. Smooth too.

T2,
That photo of your young lady asleep in the car is classic! Nothing finer than a great day with Dad in the hills.

I’m just doing a little prep work.
I had my almost three year old sitting in my lap looking at this thread.
We probably would have looked through a third time but dinner was called.
Over and over she said look at that girl.
Seeing mommy and Aunty Roxanne was special also.
