My daughter Tia sent this site to me: aish.com/movies/PhotoFraud/.asp Many of you are already aware of this; however, it's well done.

Keep trying, Woody.
Here's some info on the conflict that's destroying Lebanon.
And here's the correct link to Woody's attempt at a smokescreen.

So those pics of toys in the rubble are real?
and the other ones?
The photos are not sensationalized?
Just curious, seemed fairly convincing....

And if Hiz doesn't disarm, which it won't, the next go around is going to be ten times worse.

and some numbers....them there plunges look familiar don't they?
A total of 118 soldiers were killed in the fighting and 39 Israeli civilians were slain by the 3,970 Hezbollah rockets that hit Israel. At least 842 Lebanese were killed in the fighting.
With Israelis banding together during the war, approval ratings soared for Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Defense Minister Amir Peretz, men with little military experience who took office just two months before the fighting started. Polls Wednesday showed a collapse in their popularity as Israelis began criticizing the conduct of the war.
Support for Olmert fell from 78 percent during the fighting to 40 percent in a poll of 500 people published by TNS-Teleseker. Peretz's approval rating plunged from 61 percent to 28 percent, according to the poll, which had a margin of error of 4.4 percentage points.

Meanwhile, Israel's current army chief, Lt. Gen. Dan Halutz, came under deep pressure to resign because of revelations he found time to call his broker and sell off his stocks to avoid wartime losses hours before launching Israel's largest military operation since 1982.
FT, you did tell him to short housing on the south side didn't you?

It's obvious that some bad photo ethics happened. Probably by photographers trying to get the prize winning shot that made a point.
Doesn't seem to me that Israel's damage to Lebanon has been exaggerated though, just that it's hard to get the classic shot so folks fudge.
if that were my house, the original smoke would be bad enough

Oh that crazy bleeding-heart-liberal press is at it again!
These photos were bought by REUTERS from the photographer. Don't you think a photographer might go out of his way to make sure his shot, among the thousands submitted, is bought. Don't you think there are photographers out there stupid enough to think they could get away with such a hack job?
Do you think?

Handsome B, it's hard for people like WoodySt and Fattrad to think properly when their brain is being covered up by pants.
WoodySt, so there are unethical photographers, photojournalists and journalists. There are also unethical financial advisors, rangers, climbers, Presidents, governors, school teachers, publicans, ship captains, airline pilots, gardeners, actors, novelists, saints, angels, football players, cyclists, weight lifters, cops, firemen, skateboarders... shall I go on?
Oh, yes, and unethical SuperTacos.

Oh, I see. I should equate all those other unethical types to the MSM which is to, supposedly, be as objective as possible and give us unbiased information about a war that has quite important implications for us all. I get it now; it's the norm and is okay.

"as objective as possible"
You hit the nail right on the head.
REUTERS, The New York Times and FOX News can't employ 5,000 photographers each to take photos of every news story. They hire freelance photographers. A small percentage of freelance photographers doctor their photographs so that they are more desirable and profitable.
There is no anti-Semitic Mass Media conspiracy as your video link states, but rather a few photographers cheating to make a few more dollars.
You can take off your tinfoil hat now.

Reuters actually just pulled 490 shots from one photographer out of their library after evidence that he enhanced two shots. At least they owned up

WoodySt, I never said that you were unethical (that Locker, always trying to stir things up).
But come to think of it, Locker does have me thinking…
You are unethical Woody, Locker has convinced me, and from the sounds of it, if we ever meet (and you don’t find my body odor disgusting and repugnant) and climb together, I am going to do all the leading on stuff I know I won’t fall off.
Of course you might find 5.4s a bit boring. But dem da rules bud after reading Locker's comments about what sort of partnuh you is...

It seems as though the same tactics were used after 9/11 to grab at the heart strings of Americans. Remove the stuffed animals, the poser, and you still have huge amounts of wreckedge and displaced people.

Question: how is it that a news organization with experienced photo journalists and editors missed the doctored pictures? Why does it take a blogger to spot this stuff and not the professionals? If those who are supposed to oversee this stuff failed, they should be fired for incompetence. If they were aware of it and let it pass, they should be fired for corruption. News organizations lose their credibility each time stuff like this happens. One would think they would want to be as professionally objective as possible. The MSM does itself no favors by showing bias or incompetence. Keep in mind that the populace as a whole no longer has confidence in the MSM. Incidents such as this make their situation much worse.

Come on, how much was the picture doctored? Not by much. Mountain out of a molehill.
But of course I know that is not the issue here, and I do condemn that sort of journalism. So yes, as far as ethics go, even a little doctoring is wrong.
Still, it wasn't as if it showed Dubya pulling the trigger on some hapless Muslim kid. (He has other people do it for him. It’s one photo op that he would miss.)
