I think you are a smart guy Apogee. Thanks for taking the high road. I'm glad my post resonated with u & I apologize if I was being abrasive, I couldn't find another way to get my point across.

I also think that u, Ron & Jebus all have a great opportunity to add to this forum in a positive way & I like all of you for the good things you have already contributed over the years.

My post on the other thread was not me trying to speak for anyone either, just my own opinion. If others had similar sentiments that makes me feel better about my post, as I had typed it out yesterday & decided not to post. This morning, after more hate, I couldn't not say something.

Supertopo is a great place regardless of the battles that happen and will likely continue in the future. Another thing that I think is damaging to the forum as a whole is people who say how degraded it is & that they don't like it here anymore, that it used to be better & that everyone is angry. I think opinions like that should not be posted here, those types of posts are just as bad as the battles & hate IMO & in some ways "devalue" this great resource by casting a negative light on all users.

We all have the ability to contribute & saying this place sucks now is not A way to help with the positive vibes. Post something positive or don't post at all if u think it sucks, this place is fukking packed with cool people.

I am going to work on posting more positive content when I feel like the Chi is a little off around here than letting it drag me in too. Or if I can't think of something nice to say I will simply not post until I do.

We are all lucky to have this place.

Yeah I'm a total pussy.

Watch roadhouse again, you'll understand ;-)

wow, this one says it all

A few years ago, a long-time poster here on ST (who you all would remember, but I shall keep in confidence) actually threatened to kill myself and my family.

I pursued this person with the D.A......the subject was located, and was held accountable with jail time.

Threats have no place here....should not be tolerated.....and are completely punishable by law.

Name vs Avatar is a long standing debate on many forums. I use mine cause I have nothing to hide and don't give two sh!ts if people like me or not. Here's the theory about avatars in pictograph form.

10b,
There is no way to control the board, it's its own beast.
If you want the forum to be a "better" place then post some climbing content yourself, maybe you'll feel better.
All the BS pushes climbing down the list but whatever.

Ya know, tradman...I've never actively hidden my name...I've just never put it out there like a hood ornament.

Anyone who thinks I've been 'hiding' hasn't paid very close attention to my 15K posts (holy shitsteaks)...there are plenty of examples in there of who I am, what I do, where I live...and there are a good number of people here who know exactly who I am, and where I live.

You, on the other hand...I have no idea who you are, or where you live. I tried looking at your profile as you directed, and didn't see your name. I really don't care, either. Because it really doesn't matter much to me in this Forum who you are, as much as what you have to say, and how you say it.

You clearly have had a bad experience with a stalker...after my most recent experience, I understand and respect your view. We just might have different views on how to avoid such awful sh#t, though.

dude if you actually looked at a climbing thread you would see my photos that all have my buisness webstore as a watermark. I did put my name on my profile but for some reason i guess it is not viewable to the publick?

15k of blithering arguments... no thanks..

apogee! There is so much that I like about you, but I have been deeply bothered by your negative Ron obsession------and the same goes for Ron & his problems with you.

I am so---------looking forward to both of you not being as#@&%es to each other on ST.

It was harshing my ST mellow in a major way!

Thanks in advance!

10b4me....and therin lies the problem. This is, by definition, a climbing forum but you work hard to contribute climbing content and it slips off of the front page faster than gravity would predict.....kind of demotivating.

And yet just by posting to this thread Jim and 10b, we're contributing to that.
Therein lies the problem.
