Wow!
I was so surprised and flattered to see my picture on Supertopo! I give all the credit to Corey Rich, who is a fantastic photographer and fun climbing partner as well!
It HAS been a while since I've posted, but I've been a faithful lurker, trust me. Some of you probably remember that I got a dog a while back and I have been really busy being a single (canine) mum.
Sombra is a Beauceron, which is a really rare breed of dogs in the United States. I initially got her as a climbing/hiking/trail running/river-bumming/car-camping buddy, but she such promising working potential that I started training French Ring with her. This is a sport that combines elements of agility, obedience, and protection and we are both having a lot of fun doing it! My goal is to title her in French Ring and to get her health clearances (hips, elbows, eyes, heart, etc.) by spring so I can have puppies!
It is always good to pop in to check out what is going on in the climbing world, although I've taken on more of a silent role for now. What a great community we have here! It always inspires me to see all the different personalities that make us who we are - viva la diferencia!
Oh, and go buy the new guide ;)

Greg,
Thanks for reminder about guide being of selected routes. Now I get why Always Arches on Fairview isn't included. It's nowhere near the quality of the ones selected for this dome.

Kuan - we don't know. Rescued her from the pound thinking she was some kind of shepard mix having never heard the word "Beauceron". But, our vet immediately said based on her appearance and some mannerisms that she looked like a Beauceron with a bunch of "show flaws". Took her a little while to get used to having a family, but she is really a sweet dog.

Hey Chris,
I already mentioned this to Greg when he stopped through Bishop the other day, but he suggested I post it on the website. If there is a better place than this thread, let me know!
I put up Stinky T-Shirt (Ellery Bowl) w/ Paul Rasmussen. I know it's just a wee little sport route and I don't mean to make a big deal aboot it, but there a 12-15' runout section between the second and third bolts. Between those bolts you have to do a 5.10 mantle onto a ledge. Those moves can be protected very well w/ a Blue or Green Alien.
Also, the 6 bolts on your topo are drawn in as being all above the prominent mantle ledge, when in fact, the first two are located below it.
So, for future ref. I would mention the necessity of a small cam to protect the lead safely...but chances are people are up there for Speed Of Life anyhow and have a full rack w/ them and will hopefully be smart enough to notice the runout.
OK, thanks, and nice job on the new book!
