Funny Turner Classic Movie. As described on the link this is a " Pete Smith short subject, where six Sierra Club members show you how to climb Mt. Baldy in Three On A Rope (1938)."

Enjoy

This is a long lost classic. A fair bit of the climbing was shot at Tahquitz Rock as well as several other So Cal local climbing spots (not Mt. Baldy). Like the film "Solo," a variety of footage from completely different So Cal climbing areas was edited together to depict a single "Climb."

The climbers in the film were some of the leading Tahquitz climbers of the 1930s. This was a time when technical rock climbing was just beginning in California (and the US). Shot during the height of the Great Depression, the climbers were very excited to get paid. As the story was retold to me, the climbers had to sue to get the meager wages promised them for "acting" in the film.

Basejumping at the end is priceless.

The goofiness reminded me of the original Moving Over Stone.
