Hello everyone,

I have been building my website now for a while and I think I have it mostly under control. All I have to do is upload the rest of the images and build more pages however before put 100’s of hours work in I would you guys to take a look at it. It is far from complete but it is viewable and I need to sort any problems out before I do more work.

The url is http://www.perpendicularperspective.com/

I would like feedback concerning how it displays in many different browsers and its ease of use. Comments are encouraged but please include in your response your screen resolution and browser used. I am also interested in load times because I am on a superfast connection and don’t really know anything about the real world.

Thanks very much in advance

the pictures were slow to download... maybe try a different compression and resolution? e.g. the one on the "People" page stopped just at the top of the young lass' dress, leaving me wondering, if just for a few seconds, what the shot was going to be (it is beautiful in any event).

Otherwise I was clicking on everything I could to see how much farther I could go! Anticipation!!

looks good.. made me want to see more

Nice pictures but I agree with Ed, maybe have smaller pics (some didn't show on my small laptop screen). I use MS IE and I couldn't open any of the left-side tabs.

Hi Guys thanks for the responses.

Ed - I will look at reducing the file sizes to get the load time down, that's a somewhat easy

DD - those tabs are currently disabled as they will lead into the depths of the site. you are right - smaller sizes would help your problem.

cheers again guys

I'd say the same the others have--but it appears that
your icons on the left side of the climbing page do not
work at this time.

Anxiously awaiting more.
Nice job!

Page load smoothly in Firefox 3.0.8 on my old as heck Dell running at 1024x768 resolution with no graphics accelerator on a semi-quick DSL connection.

I agree that smaller launch page images for each of the sections would be a benefit as I have to scroll down to the bottom of the page to get the main tab links - on a smaller screen this would be annoying at best and possibly limit accessibility for those who are lazy about their scrolling.

They layout over all is workable and though my monitor is not calibrated very well, the colour balance seems pretty good.

Maybe putting the Welcome, About and other informational text as an overlay on the images might make the page a bit less cluttered, but then again it would take away from the image impact. This could be remedied by putting a View Image link in the corner, but that might make a ton more work too.

I like the site so far and look forward to seeing your work once it's fully up and running!

EDIT: It should be noted that I am using Tabbed Browsing when I view the site, and this may cause the need to scroll down in order to see the links towards the bottom of each page.

thanks for the positive vibes everyone

72hw - roughly how many px reduction in the y axis are you suggesting to remove the scroll bar on your screen? by my calc' it shouldn't be more than 20 - 30.

I played with text on images and reduced the viewing pleasure of images too much.

I don't care much about displaying on screens smaller than 1024x786 because most people are there or above and after all its a site for my photos and they look better larger.

cheers again

Can't add anything original - so I just offer that it's a really attractive site!
