"To subscribe to the new Alpinist at the SPECIAL re-launch price of only $30 for one year, call 888-424-5857."

This was posted on Mountainproject.com and summitpost.org. I have already placed my order, it's legit...

I have three issues left on my previous subscription, so I'll wait. I'm all for support and such, but I'm going to have to see the new product before I shell out any more money. Just 'cause is says "Alpinist" on the front doesn't mean it will be the same as before.

I called the number, pressed 1, left my info as requested, and got a confirmation email from them, about 45 minutes later.

Looking forward to #26.

Me, too!

The Issue 26 contributors put so much hard work into their articles. I'm so glad they're going to get published. =)

Just an update. I called and spoke to a person who informed me that I was paid up to issue 31. I spent an extra 30 bills to extend to issue 35. Geez thats expensive especially since it's a discount rate. Thought I'd do my part to try and keep them alive. I was informed that there would be quite a bit more ADVERTIZING though. They told me they couldn't understand how the old Alpinist staying in business. They also told me the paper and photo quality would stay the same.

If I was just a pimp for internet climbing porn, I'd think that, since it used to be $12.95/an issue, Steelmonkey, still waiting for 3 more issues, should be covered for another year.

For me, employed as I am, as a public servant, it seems expensive.
Not a problem, if it's the same qualty rag as before;

Alpinist v.1, was as good as it gets. I'd have to see a sample, and gleen the direction the new owners are taking it, before I would subscribe blind.

Can I still get a hat if I subscribe?

Good luck new owners! We are a surly bunch, do you have a whip and a chair?
