After the Treasury is done assisting the auto manufacturers and the suppliers to the auto industry (that was today!)

he will have the Treasury bailout the taxpayers.

Presumably so they can buy cars (or contribute to his 2012 campaign).

As much as the auto/banking bailouts disgust me, it's hard to imagine any POTUS candidate not following the same path as O. We'll just have to see where it goes from there...

McLame would have:

1) Angrily fired someone not really involved with the problem
2) Then realizing he made a mistake, he would made some other reactionary decision to cover up this up.
3) Finally, not knowing what to do, he would have consulted the wealthiest members of the "base" to see how they feel they need to be protected and meekly follow their orders.
4) This would be accompanied by a "down home" style PR campaign (think Joe the Plumber or Palin style nonsense) to convince the masses that his "decision" was really in their best interests.

This differs from Bush only in that Bush usually just executes step #3 and he has dispensed with #4. #4 has been eliminated from Bush's approach due to lack of any remaining Bush credulity. Formerly #4 was reserved by Bush to question the patriotism of anyone opposed to anything he decided.
