"Poser" is a person who poses, the hoity-toity "poseur" is a French word for a person who poses for effect or behaves affectedly. They are nearly the same, in that a person who is posing is also often a poseur. Though not always.
Many climbers are posers - look at all the photos on SuperTopo. A few unfortunately are also poseurs.
