how is it going down there... are you ready for another hurrican hit?
i have not heard from my kids... so i don't know what's up with them....

hey there riley.. say, i lived there back in the 70's upwards... i had never seen misquitos (well, no in mass amounts)until i lived in "el valle" meaning the rio grande valley...
and they were so bad they had "spraying trucks" go buy spraying the town... (smelly)...
that kind of stopped, i think, somewhere down the years, or the misquito pop died down...
man, oh, man, i can only imagine, now...
SAY, NOW, as to to hurricane.... once when folks, DID choosse (personal choice, mind you) to evac... the dad-gum ol' hurricane FOLLOWED them.... but it was not a huge disaster up in thoseparts, it had died out (most of it) on landfall...
NOW THE THAT valley is so soaked though, this not good news to see this coming in.... say, and you all STILL got all of september to go, too....
i have to call my kids today or tommorrow, but my phone bill sadly, has to come first... one of them can call be back, though...
thanks for the share, let us all know how you and your family do, when the time comes...

Hope all is well there Riley. My folks (who live in Brazoria Co., Liverpool (pop 404, elevation = barely above sea level)) are in a bad place for this one. I hope it doesn't go to category 4 (3 is bad enough). I don't miss hurricanes a bit.

if i call them, i call and hang up so they can call back... two of them have free night hours from their cell phone, or whatever it is....
someone did once say that you can dial 1010 ???? and then the number for long distance to be cheap for a the first few minutes, is THIS true????? anyone know???

I was really hoping Ike would head somewhere else or stay a tropical storm. I feel sorry for all those below sea level. All I can say is if it heads your way please bail. Got plenty of room at my place if you need it. I decided to stick out Andrew. Bad choice.

Many evacs in the Houston coastal area including almost all of Brazoria Co now. Gnarly stuff. Hopefully it's intensity will reduce - a lot.
