Pray for the construction of the $30 billion natural gas pipeline, Palin told them. Pray for the military men and women overseas, "that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending (U.S. soldiers) out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for -- that there is a plan and it's God's plan."

Later, senior pastor Ed Kalnins -- with Palin standing at his side -- spoke about tapping into Alaska's natural resource wealth in order to fulfill the state's destiny of serving as a shelter for Christians at the end of the world.

"I believe that Alaska is one of the 'refuge states' -- come on you guys -- in the Last Days," Kalnins said, raising his arm to underscore his point. "And hundreds of thousands of people are going to come to this state to seek refuge. And the church has to be ready to minister to them."

See, to the Right, what a candidate's pastor says is important only when its Obama's pastor. Only then is it indicative of what a candidate thinks.

But when its Palin...then, well, surely SHE can't believe that nutter talk.

DB;
Did you watch the daily show last week? They had one of the most impressive "do as I say not as I do" segments I've ever seen. It was absolutely amazing just how clear and knowing the hypocrisy was. It's worth going back and watching on their website if you haven't. I think the Wednesday show was the good one. This thing is going to get messy before it's through.

See,to the Left,it's important that Obama appear Christian to quell those Muslim rumors,but not that he actually believe anything his pastor says since he is just there for the votes.

The day with Newt Gingrich as the guest, Sep 3rd. You can watch full episodes on their website, which is nice since I'm skipping the whole cable thing, but I can still get my fix of humor, lefty or not. Newt came across really well in that episode too.

No dirt,I think Senator Obama and Governor Palin are both Christians.I know I do not care about their religious beliefs either.I care about the hypocrisy of touting Obama as a Christian when it suits the left,while being critical of Palin's beliefs.

It's indicative of the desperation you feel when you roll out the tried and true Roe vs. Wade panic,book banning/burning lists that include books not yet published at the time of the allegation,someone's pregnant teen aged daughter.Do you have no place better to speak from?

What did Obama say? " I could no more reject my pastor than my grandmother"or words to that effect?

Tomcat, for the most part I don't know what she believes. I don't think it's fair to say that her pastor's beliefs = her beliefs.

However...it does concern me when she starts talking about the Iraq War in divine terms. Or when she says something to the effect that God wants there to be a oil pipeline in Alaska. That seems like kind of a weird thought process going on.

BTW, I didn't post the list of books seh wanted banned. But...she did want to ban books. That's pretty well established.

Then why did she run for public office if she wanted to keep her family affairs private?

What R v. W panic book? She is squarely anti-choice. IF she becomes Prez., it's fair for her to expect to appoint justices who will overturn it. That's fair game.

I'd love to address the issues of her candidacy. But the McCain campaign doesn't want to do that. They're scared shitless of having her interact with reporters. She has not yet had an interview. Why are they afraid?

Why does that upset you? All of you left-wing nutjobs have been tellings us for years that we are destroying the earth and that it won't be here for our children.
