I am looking to make some connections with other climbers, primarily females (but of course not completely biased!) as I have not manadged to find any that trad climb and want to get out and spend lengthy time climbing. I hope to, down the road as money and time allow, to learn to aid climb but for now am building my confidence and experience multipitching easy grade trad routes. Currently only led thru 5.7 in the valley but hope to do much more.

Live down near castle rock state park, and would love to find more partners for here etc. No longer part of a gym and thus no option to meet people there.

Cheers

Well, I climb just about every weekend up on Skyline, so if you need a partner just shoot me an e-mail or something.

I usually have a partner but you'd be welcome to join. I'm not sure about getting to the Valley anytime soon, I have a newborn to look after.

bluering sweet. thanks for the reply. will be in touch, might try and get up there sat am. Will u be around? I just tried to get to the slabs on sun for exploration and bouldering, but had my dog in tow and a ranger soon after. Shucks to CA's dog policies and hikes...end up with super fit owner and fat bored dogs waiting at home...
email connection coming right up :)

Even just bouldering at Castle Rock should be a good way to meet people and find partners at your level. Not to mention getting into great shape. Weekends, plus "dawn patrol" on weekday mornings?

Hey Poppy, check your mail.

Aquarian Valley is what I think you meant in your e-mail. The only trad stuff out there is on Eagle Peak and it's only one trad route. It's a cool route, but not worth the hike in my opinion.

Castle Rock Falls has a trad line on it that would probably be perfect for your skill range. It's 5.6 or 5.7 crack than ends up higher on a bolted (2 bolts) 5.9 face. Pretty fun.

Tree Surgeon at Summit is trad leadable but it's 5.9 offwidth bleeder stuff. Better to top-rope it first.

There's actually a trad lead on the backside of Indian Rock that goes at like 5.5 or 5.6, good practice.

Anyway, I know the area pretty well, gimme a call! Oh, and I like to enjoy beers while I climb, I hope that's not a problem.

Hey Poppy and Bluering,

I'm always looking for (female) partners to expand leading skills, etc. I will be going to Tahoe or Castlerock on Thursday (live in San Francisco) with a friend I met through the gym...so slowly expanding the partner list!

As for the Valley, I'm planning a trip the weekend of the 21st, I do believe. Maybe not to the Valley...but somewhere for a couple days of climbing. I have a weird work schedule right now, and will start working M-F toward the end of the month.

Poppy, are you going to be around? Bluering of course welcome to come as well. Get in touch--better through email--and we can plan something. I'm leading about 5.7/5.8 in the Valley (depends on what).

Cheers,

Hey Poppy,
Live in Auburn, Lover's Leap and Tahoe are right around the corner, planning on lots of time in the Valley this summer, always looking for girls to climb with . . seem to spend my days in a testosterone-filled haze (not all bad) but know how you feel . . give a shout and best wishes for chalky hands and dirty feet ;)
