Had to be wandering around the summit rocks after finishing Epenephrine in the dark. Harlin's guide succinctly advised "the descent is obvious," and we believed it. Finally hunkered down about midnight and lit a fire. The fierce winds blew an ember into my eye that we spent an agonizing hour trying to get out.
Just when I was ready to allow J to pee in my eye to flush it, God intervened. So no, I've never had a golden shower from a guy.
Good times.

I relayed this on another thread, it would have to be bailing off middle cathedral spire from the 7th pitch. The epic related to the shape of my partner and I, driving all night, starting at 3am with no sleep, and me litterally passing out after anchoring in after leading the 7th pitch and my partner yelling at me that his hands were cramping up while jumaring. Oh yeah, my wife was 8 months pregnant and watching us from the medows after sleeping in tha back of the 4 runner.

The East Face of Mt. Whitney with Bozo the Clown.
It was an epic tale of thwarted dreams, too few cams, a panic-prone leader, and a frickin' cold night bivying between two farting strangers (thank god they were Marines!) in a tent made for 1.

A night out very late in the season (Oct?) on the Petzoldt Ridge on the Grand. Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Too late, too slow, so cold!

"I had lots and mostly mild, in retrospect."
Word DMT. But those nights can be sooooooooooo long when cold or wet. You lay there, challenging yourself not to open your eyes. Wait, wait wait. Don't look. It hasn't been long enough, wait some more so you avoid disappointment.
Then you finally open your eyes - and it's still pitch black dark. D'oh! Close 'em again and play the game all over.

Ghost,
Very nice, polite guys. I've met several Marines and they were all stellar gentlemen.
If I was going to bivy between two farting strangers, I was happy to not have to worry about the accidental roll-over, if you know what I mean.
DMT Ghostly Singing Edit: Wow! Were you lucky!!!

Red Rocks, Dark Shadows. We had to go to the top instead of rapping off. It was my 30th birthday and I could see the lights of Vegas all night. Layed there thinking about the warm motel room I wasn't sleeping in. We bivied after almost rapping off the end of double ropes in the dark. No water, no food, no warm clothes. Thank goodness my partner smoked at the time and we had a small fire. I cried and slept the night away. Got down in no time in the morning! I was a little tougher after that night.
