Not the best rock, but can't beat the location on the beach 7 miles north of San Francisco.

Great if you like adventure high bouldering. Or just want to mess around on easier stuff then watch the sunset with a beer. This is next to my house and i've been here a handful of times. Never heard of anyone else climbing here... anyone?

My buddy James and I climbed there a few times in the mid 80's. We were probably all of 14 years old and if we couldn't talk one of our parents into driving us to the top of Mt. Tam to go climbing we would hike from his house and hope for low tide.

We did a lot more hiking than climbing!

Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

Hey Chris,

I used to play volleyball with a guy who was MIA for a bit, then showed up really beat up from scrambling down there, and taking a big choss-ride. Well above the beach, I think.

Here I am teaching Nolan the fine art of beach-spotting:

Chris-

We also used to hike to a rock that was north of the trail/road that runs from the parking lot to the beach. We would access it from Ridge Road. I think it was above Haypress Camp but I can't remember for sure. I'll take my bike out there in the next few days and see if I can locate it. If not, I know James would remember. He's local also and it would be fun for us to recon it again.

Another rock we used to climb on is up by Four Corners. It's on the north side of Dias Ridge-it tops out at maybe 18ft. Hike the fire road that leads from the four corners area down to Muir Beach. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the car. I'm guessing on the ratings but I remember two routes, one was a 5.9ish bulge, the other a 9ish/10ish face. Most of the other stuff on it we couldn't do.

If you want to I could meet you up there sometime in the next week or two-send me an email and I'll walk/ride you out to it.
