re: the ebay ad

The Harnesses (made by a local climber at the time . . .are a FROG brand . . . stands for From Ray Olsen's Garage . . .does anyone know where Ray Olsen is now ? . . tell him we said HELLO and to look us up . . dub dub dub KayZahn dot com ) are also well used, and there are a lot of other better styles out there these days, but if you are a starving climber, these could be the right price. The first two (front of the photo) are "padded" and have multiple Gear loops. The third one is a little smaller and was Not used for lead climbing, in fact I think our oldest son (now 32, then 6) used this harness from time to time. The LEG LOOPS are OVER USED and I wouldn't suggest they be used for anything but Top Roped climbing after being tested and tugged on (everytime) to be sure the worn areas are still holding. OR JUST PUT THEM IN A MUSEUM SOMEWHERE !!!!!

We started a new Ebay GROUP for Rock Climbing discussion. . . please join us.

the Frog system was the best of it's day! I remember trading in my two inch swami for a frog swami and the instant comfort and organization that came with it.
I lost all my gear in Bachars shed when his house burned down and one of the missed items was that swami!
Ray, Fish and Kinneloa were ahead of their time!

all in all I gotta agree with Robby Naish,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robby_Naish

if you're not going to participate in the sport
you are designing/manufacturing for,
might as well just get out - find another
way to make a living.

climbing is an elite and proud sport - it deserves authentic
support from those who manipulate resources for it's consumption.

the same is true for all the specialty brands,
it's not enough to "just be involved"
it requires the ability to identify
consumer needs, and the best way to do
that is to BE the consumer, IMO.
