Did some aerial ice scouting last Saturday along the south shore of Lake Superior..looks like some AWESOME climbs are in at Grand Isalnd & Pictured Rocks. Most of the stuff on Grand Island is snowmobile or x-c accessable....a few may require a pfd as part of your pro! note that these pics are from 1000 feet +- check out the trees for scale.

awsome! i've never made it over to the island as the ice hasn't been safe to cross whenever i've been up there. but there is definitely a healthy dose of world class ice up there in the munising area! dairyland still qualifies as one of the most badass things i've been privileged to climb!

D.Advocate, Christa, my boss and I were there a few weeks ago. I have also been there in the summer for rocks and whitewater.
