1. Caligula: I didn't do my research on a first date in college, and things went bad FAST. I thought it was a simple story of a crazy emperor! Needless to say, there wasn't a second date. Note to self: check the director (not that I would've necessarily recognized Bob as a porn guy).
2. Eraserhead: I know, it's all cool, vogue noir art, but I was alone and it was just fukking depressing and huge in front of me. Out.

Night Of The Living Dead
I was seven. I was terrified. I was crying with my hands clenched over my eyes. So were my younger brothers and sisters. We left within the first 20 minutes. What could my mom have been thinking to take us to such a film?

The Devil in Miss Jones. Was the second movie in a double feature. Opening scene kinda killed the mood (ha ha).
Was underage, but, a friend worked the window.

repost:i arrived way too early for construction season in fairbanks one year. parked and proceeded to frost up a bivy van big time. trudged around all day in arctic gear on less of a budget than a self respecting street person would settle for. finally pawned something and treated myself to what i anticipated would be couple of hours of indoor heat across town watching whatever movie might be playing that night. half way through TOWERING INFERNO i bundled up and marched back to the van. other than flame, all i remember of that movie was loud stressed up music, screaming, shouting, hollering and more screaming, most of it in a stairwell with hoses and some more screaming

I walked out on Caligula too! LOL. That was a long time ago. I can't remember if I have since seen the entire thing.

Cliffhanger.
I thought it would have a bunch of silly climbing scenes that I could laugh at (and it probably did), but it pretty soon became clear it was just a celebration of mindless violence set against a background of climbing, made for no other reason than to give people who enjoy watching mindless violence something to watch.
And a couple of others, for the same reason.

Blade Runner.
I actually walked out twice. So many respected close friends raved about it, and I gave it a second chance to no avail. I read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep before seeing the movie. That's what I wanted and expected, with all its subtle nuance. Not!

A Boy And His Dog. After 5 or 10 minutes La Femme thought it was gonna turn out
badly for the girl. Dunno if it did or didn’t and don’t much care about post-apocalypse
films anyway as they are so ludicrous.
Watched Blade Runner at home - pretty banal but haven’t told my neighbor that.
He thinks it’s the greatest. Still trying to get him to watch El Topo. Told him its
like Like Water For Chocolate, but deeper and rougher, but he hasn’t seen that either.

If you did't leave voluntarily, it doesn't count!

The Firm. After what seemed hours it was still going no where. I was glancing at my date. Out of the corner of my eye I could see her glancing at me. "Want to leave?" Yes!"
Reilly, it didn't end well for the girl friend, but it ended OK for the dog. It's a good read, typical Harlan Ellison.

We Were Soldiers about the battle of Ia Drang with Mel Gibson.
I don't mind war movies, and Gibson has done some good ones. But this one was very violent, and the sound in the theater was wayyyy loud. After about 20 minutes it was just overwhelming, so I left.

@ Steve- yeah I'm with you on too loud, too gratuitously " action packed" + absolutely no plot driving me to walk out of at least two movies. "Gremlins 2" & one of the latter "Bourne" movies ( can't remember which one)
I also walked out of " Dead Ringers" - boring evil gynecologist twins not being my thing.
