Even if you take away the race issue...it's a flag from a confederacy that LOST ITS CIVIL WAR! Why is the loser of a war allowed to have it's flag fly in a government building? Does Arizona or Texas fly the Mexican flag at state buildings? No other government would ever be tolerant of the losing side of a war continuing to fly their flag. Heritage or not...you were on the losing side and your flag has no place at state or national government buildings. Fly it home if you wish.

It's also the ultimate symbol of anti-Americanism. Yet many of the redneck pukes defending it consider themselves to be patriots.
I realize a lot of their zeal for the confederate flag is a result of ignorance and denial about the civil war, the civil rights movement, and the true meaning of the flag, but we are long past the point where denial and ignorance are excusable.

And let's not get into the Killing and Jailing of Black Men in the good old USA, short term memory issues? Seems like you all are supporting the same FLAG. . .

As usual Dave is off kilter, it was about more than slavery, but the thing that many people don't understand is that the stars and bars is NOT the flag of the Confederate States of America.
It was Bobby Lee's flag, the flag of the Army of Northern Virginia.
That is the reason it was popularized.
However it has morphed into symbol of racism. DUMP IT !

Because for almost a century after they lost the war, the same party of the traitors controlled the state legislatures and governorships of those states.
as recently as 1987 Bill Clinton signed this law.
And used it as a campaign symbol much more recently.
It is altogether fitting that legislators and governors of the abolitionist party would be removing the last vestige of the party of the party of institutional racism's battle flag.
