Does anyone know the backstory behind The Legend that is Avery the Kiwi?
I don't mean to be a stalker and I'm pretty sure that he's safe and sound but I think a lot of us would like to welcome the man and The Legend that is Avery the Kiwi.
As far as I know he is not a black bear or any kind of bear.
Please be advised that I half-intend to delete this thread and don't want to encourage anyone to post here if thread deletion is an issue of yours.
Please no selfies, foot selfies, jolly rancher posts or things that you are building. Please no vehicle posts or trip reports not directly related to The Legend that is Avery the Kiwi.
Anyone interested in climbing hard Big Walls with The Legend that is Avery the Kiwi should post up here. I am accepting donations for plane tickets and expenses so that I can fly to New Zealand and bring him here. There is no upper limit to the donations that I will accept in support of my support of supporting The Legend that is Avery the Kiwi.

I met him at the Riverside Quarry a few years ago. His real name is Patrick & he is a nice person who is quite psyched on climbing in our "Golden State". He is from New Zealand too BTW!
I am quite surprised at all the hostility displayed towards him by some of the members of this forum when he was asking for Bigwall photos & information. This site is a funny place. It has a tough crowd sometimes, other times it seems to be a bunch of a$$hole jerks pontificating about nothing in particular pertinence to actual climbing, and sometimes, there is actually wonderful climbing content that makes visiting here worth the sea of spew that flows from some members keyboards.
Avery is good people in my book.

When I imagine a Canadian and a New Zealender engaged in polite, respectful, friendly mutual admiration it makes me want to kick my family. I hate myself for being such a facetious dick. My internal filter is broken and I've misplaced my give-a-sh#t, so I imagine that the offenses will continue. I hate myself. It may be Tourettes Disease.....Sheep dip!
Luckily I can always find some real bigoted dimwits to mock.....Hobnobblers!
( I never really understood why well adjusted people would go rock climbing anyway. But I secretly suspect that the former POM's are simmering Hockey Goons and Rugby Brawlers on the edge of losing it.)

Hey Avery,
I hope that you find all this in good taste. It looks like you've got plenty of allies around here. ( the PM had no content, but thanks as it was my first super taco private message.) I'm pretty new here. The guys at Jail recently were so friendly and helpful that I thought that I'd pay it forward. LMK if you'd rather see this thread disappear. I'm guessing that it will fade naturally and only resurface for positive reasons.
