I'm visiting Marin for a week and only have room for shoes. I've bouldered on the hill in Tiburon, Stinson and Mickey's area. Are there other good spots? I'll be staying right on the Dipsea Trail in Mill Valley. TIA. SS

Maybe it's already obvious, but if you have access to a car and come across the Richmond/SanRafael bridge, you can boulder at Indian Rock in Berkeley.

The Dipsea would be WAY down on my list of suggested trail runs on MT Tam.
Quite frankly it isn't that much fun, and he average fit runner will be sore for a week. ;-)

I've run the dip, the double dip, and the Tam circumnab. I'm over that, it was years ago! I just want to go bowldrin'. I remember doing some stuff on Mt. Tam summit. Robbins crack? 5.10ish overhanging fist. This was back in the 60's. Just wondering about other Marin bouldering. BTW it was 60 here in Jax Wy today. Can't wait to get to Cal. Jaybro I have running shoes but I think the Dipsea will be more of a speed hike for this geriatric old boy!

the stuff up the summit is high, a bit chossy, and surrounded by coastal scrub. but sounds like you know that already. there's a nice v4 traverse off one of the high hairpins but i cant recall the name.
folks have ferreted out some limited and isolated but coolish looking boulder routes lower on the hill. the good looking ones seem to clock in around v6-8, and i haven't visited them personally. the atf traverse looks cool, but it's a long drive for me, for one boulder problem. drunkenmaster is indeed the one to query.
the tiburon stuff is still fun, but the turtle rock traverse has gotten really polished. still, one of the best surrounds for urban bouldering.
stinson/mickey's seems to be a destination for hard bouldering, but i can't say for sure. i've been three times. two times i got high sand and waves and virtually unboulderable conditions. the other time had low tides, sun, unreal traffic, and then a lot of old naked guys. nttawwt. ymmv. i haven't been back.
if yr looking to mix moderate bouldering with a few easy solos and great surround, goat rock/jenner wouldn't be that much farther than i-rock.
