Donini, would you write a little about some of your experiences at these places and times in your journey? e.g., travel skills, dos and don'ts, out of the ordinary or wonderful happenings, comparisons and contrasts, anything that comes to mind really. You're a fine writer, I know, would love to read some along with these amazing pictures.

So true. Xº, 11º, and 12º regions of Chile are pretty much paradise for anyone who loves the outdoors and loves to explore backcountry.

Incredible pictures, Donini. A small contribution to this killer thread (only some in Aisén, but all on the Carretera Austral):

To answer a couple of questions: It is not nearly as windy as the Torres de Paine, the Basalt Tower is nearly 1000 ft. high and has a 4 pitch 11c route on it with more to come and the area is in the vicinity of the North Patagonia Ice Cap.

Unbelievable! Made my night. Wild places rock.
The fourth pic can't be real, are you kidding?
That basalt crag is just stupid.
Thanks for the stellar visual report.
