Hi folks,
On 1/7/11, I left my green osprey daypack on my descent route from Cathedral and Eichorn to back to the JMT, NW aspect, more less middle of the broad gully, maybe a little to skier's right, half way down or a little higher, next to a ~6' tree and brand new rappel anchor I left on it.
About 60m above this position: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&q=37.848846,-119.407394
Please contact me if you've found something that matches that description.

After a year on the slopes, I doubt if it is still there....

oops
edit-
funny how some think ST is the "lost and found" of the wilderness.
i guess that's ok, but being self sufficient is ok too.
were you entirely unaware at the bottom that you'd spaced it?

Hey folks, sorry got the year wrong...still too early in 2012 I guess.
Back story is that I took a small fall while doing a pitch on the other side, twisted my ankle, and it was getting late. Finished to the peak, though. The downclimb looked sketch in the dark with lots of icy patches -- my partner and I felt the safest option was to do several raps down. Rapped in the dark and with my ankle distracting me, I just accidently left it at one of the few rap points. Lots of lessons from this trip. Like standing to the side when pulling the rope down...a chunk of tree the size of a Nalgene hit me -- didn't hurt me, but obliterated my down jacket. I probably could have just followed the trail of down back to the spot. Does anyone restuff these things?!
Looks like someone contacted me about it, though, so this weekend's "extraction mission" is off. A little disappointed about that.
Thanks for the interest!
