all words written, are.
some whords, when written, stand up and dance.
others simply lie and down and die.
the prose of cragman smells of carrion to me.
the words scratched on the dead sea scrolls,
those words limp along forever, spoiling the mental buoyancy of their audience.

The Sibley Guide to the Birds lists the wingspan of the Golden Eagle at 6' 7" and the length at 2' 6".
I had 2 Golden Eagles come over for a look at me as I sat on a random summit in Alberta. To stay flying stationary they were in a full dive in the powerful updraft with wings tucked in and only about 15' away, magical.

I saw one standin' on a dead sheep south of Green River once, Chuck.
When I stopped my rig, He just spread his wings and stood his ground.
I fled. He had dinner. He was Huge. I believe you.
Whoa. That WOULD be,CH.
