Just picked this up for $5... spotless and looks/feels like it came of the sales floor this morning.

Hard to believe you found it in un-used condition.

The look like Forrest Pin Bins. I tried making my own in 1969 (before I knew Bill had made them and was selling them commerically). Unfortunately, the spring material I used wasn't stiff enough, and pretty soone pins were ready to fall out. I went back to using carabiners and never swithced.

Those pin bins were a weird deal that didn't really work; Five fake biners for a wall full o pins, plus you need a rack of biners on the side. I'll bet that most of them ever made are still pristine...

I did Zodiac way back when with a guy who had a rack of those things. I freaking loved them. When they went out of production, I tried to make my own and failed miserably.
I found them super fast for grabbing the right sized pin and keeping things organized. It seems like it had a bunch more of the "bins" than the picture. Maybe he had two of them. Can't remember. When you got used to them they were great.
I think that I may be the only one with that opinion, but it was better than three pins on a biner on a shoulder rack.
